Heavy Music Awards Postponed Until September Amidst Global Crisis

The organisers behind the 2020 Heavy Music Awards or HMA’s have confirmed this week that the award ceremony has officially been moved to Thursday, September 3rd at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town, in wake of the current Covid-19 pandemic and in line with Governmental advice to avoid non-essential travel and large gatherings.

In a statement to the press, HMA reiterated that the safety of fans, artists, partners and crew are rightly their primary concern. In addition to the new date, the voting window has been extended out to Friday, June 5th, HMA has also confirmed that all votes already cast will still remain valid.

The likes of Slipknot, Tool, Bring Me The Horizon and Babymetal are all nominated for best album alongside Bury Tomorrow, Venom Prison, While She Sleeps and Architects who are amongst the nominees up for best UK act. If you haven’t had a chance to vote, now is as good a time as any, click here to get involved and support your favourite artists.
