Yesterday evening the sad news that the collapse of the notorious Team Rock brand, responsible for Metal Hammer, Classic Rock, Prog Rock, Team Rock Radio and The Golden God awards started spreading through the music industry. I for one am gutted to say farewell to such an infamous brand that has sculpted many of our lives through new music or celebrating the old. At the last count the redundancy numbers were at 72 but expected to continue to rise. From us here at RAMzine, we want to wish our media comrades the best of luck for the future and to let them know that we are all thinking of them this close to Christmas. RIP Team Rock, another life claimed in 2016.
Ben Ward (vocalist of Orange Goblin) has started a crowdfunding campaign stating “73 members of the Team Rock staff were told that the company is going into liquidation and that they are being made redundant with immediate effect with ZERO pay. These are good, hard-working, committed people that through Metal Hammer, Classic Rock, Prog Rock, TeamRock Radio and more, have supported the rock and heavy metal scene in this country for decades and now we, the rock community, need to pull together to help give something back.
