Review: Like Tyrants – Despicable Feelings

The self proclaimed Emo/post-hardcore 5 piece band from Akron Ohio – Like Tyrants founded in 2010 have the makings of a world wide stadium filling band! Like Tyrants  consists of Nick Wagner, Jack Adams, Matt Hertweck, Chan Thompson and Dave Conti. They bring a nice new feeling to the hardcore-punk genre with a sound that resembles Glassjaw and hints of Exit Ten.

The EP Despicable Feelings is absolutely amazing!

Track 1: ‘Leach’ sounds very much like a Glassjaw song starting off very chilled out and mellow as it builds up into a rhythmic riff that anyone would hold lighters up for. The composition is perfect as each part of the music compliments each other extremely well and the vocals really stand out.

Track 2: ‘Lost My Keys’ is more punk-esc, with a solid and melodic riff and catchy lyrics. This is the anthem of the EP and is sure to have many singing along and jumping around.

Track 3: ‘Jealousy’ keeps the mood going with some great hooks. The lyrics are very emo and full of passion and emotion, the makings of a successful single? It’s original and well written.

Track 4: ‘Ranch Wilder’ is the closing track and close the last page it does. This song comes from the heart as you can clearly hear the whole band giving it their all during the construction process. The final product is mind blowing, it makes you wonder why you’ve never heard these guys before!

Like Tyrants – Despicable Feelings has top shelf production, rock star composition and all the hooks you could ever expect and or want from a band. I recommend you check these guys out on Facebook, you won’t regret it.
