Review: Wolfpakk – Wolves reign

Is it me or is music getting better by the minute?

‘Falling’ is an amazing track that just transports me back to the good old days of bands like Europe and Bon Jovi, although this is a lot more fired up, but it holds that same familiar sound with fantastic harmonies.

‘Run All Night’ literally runs away with itself in this quickening track that does all the work for you all you have to do is listen, head bang and have a good time.

WOLFPAKK‘Blood Brothers’ sounds like Native Americans have been let loose to join in the affray! And indeed they have it seems as the track clearly states within its lyrics an Indian chant – I’m really enjoying this! The chorus is just so catchy!

‘Wolves Reign’ has a synth kick start it at the beginning making it sound creepy and intriguing with its twiddles and squeaks. However, it becomes clear that the track has a message to offer, very poignant indeed!

‘No Remorse’ again holds a jangle of keyboard notes and strange spaced out noises until its all-round sound becomes apparent and it kind of sweeps you off into some kind of oblivion.

‘Inside the Animal Mind’ great title and one mesmerising track. It possesses a deep chug and unleashes a beast with its individual presence and catchy chorus that is so rewarding to listen to.

WOLFPAKK‘Scream of the Hawk’ the bird has spoken and so has the track. It conjures up a bird in flight flying over mountains and rooftops, not to mention the swoop that catches its prey. The ten ‘Commandmentshas a good stiff upper lip attached to its crazy beats with a celestial kiss. It is a striking track that is bold and confident and allows the listener to get up close and personal with its soaring distinctive tones.

‘Mother Earth’ begins with some thunder and then as it dissipates a lonely drum beat cuts in closely followed by a gnarly bass hook and screeching riffs that parade seductively, making this an essential treat.

‘Tomorrowland’ is a beautiful ballad that is sung with pure emotion as well as played deftly with caring hands. Its warmth glows and embraces with beautifully inflamed imagination.

‘I’m Onto You’ finishes off the album with a kick in the gut after the previous soft caress this track goes in for the absolute kill.    Wolfpakk Wolves reign is out via AFM Records Hamburg on 28th April 2017.
