The Tubes announce UK tour

“We’re thrilled to be coming back to the country that started it all for us,” declared Fee Waybill frontman for The Tubes on their return to the UK this coming October and reminiscing how some of their shows were banned back on their first tour here back in the 70s. “I embrace my British heritage; the beer and the fish and chips and the best rock and roll fans in the world.  The all-new Mondo Pulp Tour will be big fun.”

In what has been promised as “Twelve nights of non-stop mayhem” the Mondo Pulp Tour is intended as a tribute to the pulp art era. This is reflected in the tour poster created by Prairie Prince, who’s not only been the San Francisco-based band’s drummer since day one but is a well-respected graphic designer in his own right. Over-the-top theatrical visual performances are practically guaranteed with pot-shots taken at all and sundry, and the set will include the likes of ‘What Do You Want From Life?’, ‘Mondo Bondage’, ‘She’s A Beauty’ and naturally the now classic ‘White Punks On Dope’ with Waybill enacting the part of larger-than-life fictitious platform-booted, drugged out British glam rock star Quay Lewd!

Still featuring four original members who all appeared on The Tubes’ 1975 debut album: Fee Waybill (lead vocals), Roger Steen (guitar), Rick Anderson (bass) and Prairie Prince (drums) the band will also feature David Medd (keyboards) who has been with them since 2006.
