Five-piece indie act BilloBuckers tell us ‘It’s Okay Not To Be Okay’ on their latest single, and it’s already attracting attention from DJs and radio stations, not least with it being featured on BBC Introducing.
As likely gathered by its title, the song tackles the subject of male depression with empathy and understanding, exploring how men tend to mask it, while reinforcing that support is there.
Based around Leicester and Nottingham, Billy Buckler (vocals, rhythm guitar), Angie Lloyd (backing vocals), Alastair Tomlinson (lead guitar), Callum Martin (bass) and George Blay (drums) count the likes of The Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, The Stone Roses and The Libertines among their influences.
Applying the grit and force of conventional rock with the introspectiveness of indie, they explore themes of love, sorrow and personal development to capture the essence of human experiences.
Following their debut EP Eloquently Common and three singles that have achieved 60,000 streams, ‘It’s Okay Not To Be Okay’ is their callout to 2026. You can stream the single and check out the video below.
