Brighton duo Elandra are back with ‘Juvenile’, out 15th January, and it’s the kind of track that catches you off guard at 2am when your thoughts won’t quiet down.
Paolo Siviero and George Seymour-Cole have crafted something genuinely affecting here. Built on a gnarly acid synth bass that prowls beneath vintage electric piano and shimmering guitar layers, ‘Juvenile’ is restless, emotionally charged, and refreshingly honest about the messier parts of being human.
The track tackles anxiety, regret, and that paralysing moment when you realise you keep making the same mistakes in relationships but have no idea how to break the cycle. As the band puts it, it’s about “that feeling of powerlessness that comes from gaining awareness about a trauma response to closeness in relationships, but not knowing how to get around it.” Heavy stuff, delivered with real vulnerability. The accompanying music video, filmed in Paolo’s Italian hometown, is a very creative piece that makes you think.
Elandra have been building momentum lately. Previous singles ‘Days, Years & Months’ and ‘Ask Me Why’ racked up over 10,000 UK streams, landed BBC Introducing airplay with Melita Dennett, and earned the duo headline slots across Brighton and London. They’ve shared stages with Elephant Kind, Soft Loft, and Paint Me In Colour, while venues like Green Door Store, Hope and Ruin, and The Prince Albert have become familiar stomping grounds.
For fans of Tame Impala‘s Currents-era or Alt-J‘s atmospheric introspection, this one’s worth your time. ‘Juvenile’ lands ahead of their debut album Right Wrong, due May 2026.
