Pointless Drop Heavy New Single ‘Give Me A Sign’

Pointless

Pointless

Pointless are kicking off 2026 with serious intent. The Berlin-based melodic heavy rock outfit have just dropped ‘Give Me A Sign’, the lead single from their upcoming EP Tension for Closure, and it’s a statement of where they’re heading next.

Since forming in 2023, pointless have been steadily carving out their own space in the heavy rock scene. They wear their influences on their sleeve with nods to System of a Down, Avenged Sevenfold, and Alice in Chains, but what makes them interesting is how they’ve blended those touchstones with punky hooks and progressive edges into something distinctly their own.

‘Give Me A Sign’ captures a band in transition. The track went through multiple revisions during the EP sessions, with vocalist and guitarist AaronB explaining how the creative process was “long and complicated” as the band critically assessed the songwriting over and over again. That dedication shows in the final product. The guitar work on this track is genuinely insane, layered and complex but never losing sight of the hook. It’s the kind of playing that rewards repeat listens.

The single marks a shift for pointless, who now continue under AaronB’s leadership following lineup changes. Rather than slowing them down, it seems to have sharpened their focus. The blend of distorted guitars, forceful drums, and dual vocal harmonies remains intact, but there’s a new confidence running through the sound.

Tension for Closure arrives on February 20th, with another single ‘Edge Of The Sea’ dropping on January 23rd. If ‘Give Me A Sign’ is anything to go by, pointless are worth keeping an eye on this year.

‘Give Me A Sign’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
