Shinedown have announced their eighth studio album EI8HT, set for release on May 29th via Atlantic Records, alongside a mammoth 53 date world tour that includes five arena shows across the UK this November.
The Jacksonville rockers have been on an absolute tear lately. Three number one US radio hits in ‘Three Six Five’, ‘Dance, Kid, Dance’, and ‘Killing Fields’, plus the country tinged ‘Searchlight’ that they debuted at the Grand Ole Opry with an introduction from Carrie Underwood herself. All four tracks feature on the upcoming 18 track album.
New single ‘Safe And Sound’ dropped alongside the announcement. Frontman Brent Smith describes it as “reminding the competition what they are dealing with” Subtle, then.
The album was produced by longtime bandmate and bass player Eric Bass, with Smith praising his work: “Myself, Zach, and Barry are so honoured to create and work with such an extraordinary producer, engineer, mixer, songwriter, musician, performer, and band mate.”
Now let’s talk about that support bill, because this is genuinely stacked. UK dates see Coheed and Cambria and Welsh rockers Those Damn Crows joining the tour. Coheed have been on phenomenal form following The Father of Make Believe, while Those Damn Crows continue their relentless climb through the UK rock ranks. North American legs feature Black Stone Cherry, who are celebrating 20 years of their debut album this year, plus From Ashes to New bringing their hard rock and hip hop hybrid to proceedings. Any of these acts could headline in their own right. This is a bill worth arriving early for.
UK fans can catch the tour at bp pulse LIVE Birmingham (November 14), OVO Hydro Glasgow (November 16), Motorpoint Arena Nottingham (November 17), OVO Arena Wembley (November 19), and AO Arena Manchester (November 20).
Pre ordering any format of EI8HT from the band’s store before 2pm on Monday 23rd February unlocks early ticket access. UK tickets go on general sale February 27th at 10am local time.
