If there is one thing that some of the guys do in Singapore, it’s rattling out some amazing music. You don’t somehow imagine that a country like Singapore could muster up such amazing pieces of writing, but they do! At least Dante’s Theory does, first track ‘Qiamat Heretics’ is proof of that. The vocal scorches with unfathomable rhythms and salacious beats the track is robust and forthright.
‘Iron Coffin’ holds some devious samples that paint a vivid picture of claustrophobia – something that has never sat well with yours truly, however I did manage to have an MRI with a blindfold on so perhaps I should listen to this the same way but it will still choke the life out of me either way!
‘Insanity of the Saints’ is another compelling listen as the melodic hues bare down on the audial and crushes your skull with morbid curiosity! It twists and turns and gathers a superb momentum.
‘Dethroned the Purist‘ is a sinister prowl that goes a long way in order to stalk its prey. With fire in its belly it ferociously attacks the cerebral cortex and molests it in such an evil way that one has to love it!
Amut comes to life and throttles the living daylight’s out of you! The compelling anger and hatred contained within not only the vocals but the shrieking riffs are spellbinding and all encompassing. These guys really know how to manifest a dark and foreboding EP – always the way when you love something and can’t get enough the band just releases an EP, typical! Although I understand that it takes a lot of money and effort from a band to go into the recording studios but I am sure a full-length album would go down an absolute treat judging by the EP.
It holds plenty of intrigue and head battering destruction. Which is absolutely fine by me! The snarlier the better! This band are just masters of the riff throwing out blinding rhythms and seductive vocal treats like no tomorrow! I particularly love the hint of melodic infusions, and the samples which really add to its depth and textures which are paramount to an E.P that succeeds and one that falls flat. There is a lot to keep you focused here, despite there only being five tracks, but each one holds its own character and becomes a metal nightmare that you can actually, thoroughly enjoy!
Dante’s Theory Amut is out via Transcending Obscurity on 15th April 2017.
