RAIN CITY DRIVE on Songwriting, Red Flags & ‘Wish You The Best’ | Slam Dunk Festival

RAMzine caught up with vocalist Matt McAndrew of American rock band Rain City Drive at Slam Dunk Festival 2025. The conversation delved into the band’s track ‘Wish You The Best,’ which Matt revealed originated from the lyric “wish you the best even though you’re the worst.” He explained it was inspired by a past toxic relationship, humorously noting he “knew I’d get some good songs out of it,” and that the phrase became an inside joke during the relationship’s end.

We also discussed relationship red flags, and he describes Rain City Drive in a unique way! McAndrew announced a new single, ‘Ride or Die,’ due next month, which he described as being about a positive relationship!
