The Anix is back with new alt rock single, ‘Tethered’ taken from the forthcoming Nightvision album due on 2nd June via FiXT.
Melancholy and bittersweet, ‘Tethered’ continues the alternative rock, grunge direction of the album. Featuring both male and female vocals with thoughtful and emotive lyrics, The Anix has crafted an intricate but simplified track filled with yearning for what could never be. The turbulent yet atmospheric track is said to showcase The Anix‘s understanding of the human condition and illustrating the drive to find someone and not be left alone in an ethereal soundscape.

A Number of previous singles have been released, ‘Missile‘, most recently.
Raw, unrefined, ‘Missile’ is an alternative rock grunge single with the bittersweet emotions at the forefront of the track. Featuring a passionate vocal performance from The Anix with thoughtful emotive lyrics laced through synthesizers, soft guitars, and easy drum beats ‘Missile’ is a picture of yearning laid bare for the world to see.

“Taking a new simplified direction, stripping back my usual arsenal of effects and track stacking, ‘Bleach’ marks the beginning of a new songwriting style for me,” said The Anix, of the previoua single release.
“It was exciting to re-approach a song with the goal of it sounding ultra-massive, but using fewer ingredients. More time was spent on perfecting absolutely every detail to engulf the listener in a new space. The song continues mood I am pursuing on this album, which is “infinite sadness + infinite power”, which means that the overall mood this collection of songs will put you in is somewhat of an oxymoron, but its the mood I feel most creative in.” That single is available here and you can also check out the video here at RAMzine.
Previous release ‘Frozen Waves’ took a more sombre mood, continuing to pull from 90s influences as it explored the dichotomy of water both the life-giving side and how deadly it can be as a metaphor for people.
“‘Frozen Waves’ is an idea exploring two opposing forces to form one,” said The Anix. “The idea that water is beautiful but can be deadly, and can transform once frozen into a brittle and sharp substance. This is a metaphor for what happens to us as humans when exposed to certain trauma in life. We can become new versions of ourselves, sometimes dangerous or beautiful versions.” It’s available here and you can check out the video here at RAMzine.
And even before that was ‘Just Like You’ that folds grunge, alternative rock, and modern rock with elements of electro, and trip-hop into a soulful ballad. Deeply melancholy the single pushes into an emotional roller coaster soundscape/
The Anix said it was: “Inspired by The Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, Nirvana, Soundgarden, combining elements of trip hop, electronica, and garage-alternative. The song begins as a dark, melancholic electro track, lyrically explaining how we have been “blindly led down the wrong paths in life”, almost taking the viewpoint of a victim, then the song explodes into a battle against the fate we have been drawn to, balancing out the sombre verses with a musical antidote. The up and down wave the song goes through is simulating the mental battle we have to survive and succeed in life.” It is available here and you can check out the video here at RAMzine.
