Metalcore band Afterglow issue new metal single ‘The Pledge’, taken from an upcoming FiXT: Radium compilation.
Taking listeners on a journey of healing and self-discovery ‘The Pledge’ dives right into heavy guitars overlaid with healing synthesisers. The song’s lyrics explore the themes of self-doubt, self-reflection, and the search for inner strength after facing traumatic experiences. An anthem for healing, speaking to the human experience, especially the struggles that come with healing and moving on.
“‘The Pledge’ is a song aimed at helping individuals who have experienced personal trauma find the strength and courage to heal and move forward,” explained Afterglow. “The song’s lyrics explore the themes of letting go of the past, finding hope in the present, and setting goals for the future. We wanted to create a contrast between the lyrics, and the upbeat, positive tonality and ambiance of the music.”
Afterglow erupted onto the metalcore scene with their 2020 singles ‘Ephemeral’ and ‘Black Hole’ which were placed on the top of Spotify’s Metal editorial playlists New Core, Got Djent?, Top Of The Core, New Blood, and All New Metal as well as being featured on Sirius XM Octane’s “Test Drive” and Dreambound on YouTube.
The four piece from Mexico City are currently writing their debut album, set for release later in the year. Afterglow’s intent is to cheer you up and make you feel connected, and relieved that you are not alone in this journey.
‘The Pledge’ is available now on all platforms here.
