Metalcore veterans August Burns Red continue the march toward their new album Season of Surrender with the release of ‘The Nameless’, a bruising new single that accomplishes more in under three minutes than most heavy bands manage across an entire record.
The track boasts the band’s signature complex rhythm section alongside dark, moody guitars and an unrelenting vocal assault. Bassist Dustin Davidson called it a hard-hitting bruiser that combines classic ABR elements with dark technical rhythms, showcasing where the band has come from and the future path ahead.
Vocalist Jake Luhrs added that lyrically, the track is about refusing to waste your life for the sake of acceptance, sometimes requiring you to detach from old beliefs in order to face your own weaknesses and break free.
Season of Surrender arrives on June 5 via Fearless Records, featuring guest appearances from The Devil Wears Prada‘s Mike Hranica, Polaris‘ Jamie Hails, and Make Them Suffer. The album follows recent single ‘Behemoth’, which we covered here on RAMzine and confirmed ABR are showing zero signs of slowing down after two decades.
The band hits the road on a co-headline US tour with The Amity Affliction this spring, kicking off April 10.
August Burns Red are: Jake Luhrs (vocals), JB Brubaker (guitar), Brent Rambler (guitar), Dustin Davidson (bass), and Matt Grenier (drums).
