Boston’s garage punk-n-rollers Baabes‘ self-titled album is out now as is their most recent single ‘Soopastar’, on Riot Records.
Apparently, the song is all about “a drink, a spaceship and a big f**ing stereo,” – you can check out the facts by checking out the video here at RAMzine.
The new self-titled album is a heavy, distorted, loud and fun record that echoes the early proto-punk and garage rock sounds of the 70s without being derivative or old. The result here being a raucous, ratchet dance party.
The band formed in Boston at the tail end of 2017 and have been going hard since. They first made a name for themselves off of their turbulent live shows, and then after their self-release in 2019 – a lo-fi, 4 track-recorded EP. Since then, they’ve put out a bunch of singles, with the upcoming album due.
The new Baabes album is available on all digital platforms here.
The band’s previous single was ‘Too Cool For Pants’ – Rumour has it that the Baabes boys were drinking in the morning, and ‘Too Cool For Pants’ was the result. You can watch Baabes video for it here at RAMzine.
