Bloodstock 2021: While She Sleeps and more added to line-up

Only 28 days left until the biggest metal weekend of 2021 – Bloodstock Open Air Festival. Even so, there is still time to add a few more names to the line-up. Also, Bloodstock HQ have updated their safety measures for the festival which can be read by clicking here. So remember to take a COVID test before arriving at the site.

Unfortunately, some bands have had to pull out due to international travel issues, but there are some great bands in their place.

One of these bands is Dark Tranquility. In their place is Loathe on Friday’s Ronnie James Dio stage line-up.

Also Bury Tomorrow is no longer able to perform, so instead, we have While She Sleeps who also played Download Pilot earlier this year.

As Unleash The Archers have dropped out, we welcome British rockers Black Spiders, making their Bloodstock debut.

Lotus Eater has called it a day, so death metallers Foetal Juice make their return to Bloodstock, opening the main stage on Friday.

Through thick and thin, the Metal 2 The Masses scheme has gone ahead with a bit of diversity this year. We are happy to announce some of the winners:

Winning slots on Friday are Sheffield winners, extreme metal band Terminal Sun

Essex crowned death metal mob Beyond Extinction as winners

Somerset’s winners were alt-metallers Sail

Manchester chose tech-thrash band Beyond Salvation

Severenth won in North Wales

Saturday’s New Blood stage is Hitchin’s stoner/grunge band Black Atlas. Norwich winners are sludgers A Horse Called War, Bristol blackened death trio Ascaris join the bill, Newcastle chooses groove metal squad Desolation. Finally, London’s victors are Hawxx -who are also the winners of PRS’s Women Make Music award. See their Heavy Music Awards performance below:

Brand new to Bloodstock is Game Zone, which features video games from all generations from Atari to Xbox, as well as modern-day consoles and PC gaming.

All these bands will join the main stage headliners are DEVIN TOWNSEND (Friday), KREATOR (Saturday), and JUDAS PRIEST (Sunday). The festival will also feature sets from SKINDRED, PARADISE LOST, DIAMOND HEAD, THERAPY?, VENOM PRISON, JINJER, VIO-LENCE, SAXON, THE WILDHEARTS, GLORYHAMMER, BLEED FROM WITHIN, NAPALM DEATH, PHIL CAMPBELL & THE BASTARD SONS, MEMORIAM, RAMAGE INC., GREEN LUNG, CONJURER, ORANGE GOBLIN, RAGING SPEEDHORN, LAWNMOWER DETH, CONAN, SYLOSIS, WINTERFYLLETH, HACKTIVIST, THE CRAWLING, EVIL SCARECROW, ACID REIGN, SVALBARD, BORSTAL, SEIDRBLOT, MOTHER VULTURE, BLOODSHOT DAWN, EVILE, and more, with plenty still being announced…
