Blossom Death’s Heavy Spirit

Heavy gothic rock outfit Blossom Death’s debut album Spirit is out on 21st May through The Circle Music and is preceded by the album’s opening track ‘Stone Kiss’ as their new single alongside a music video.

Put together by former Sorrowful Angels frontman and lyricist Kostas ‘Corax’ Katoikos, alongside Marita Makaronidi and drummer Argy Deligianopoulos in Varkiza, Greece, back in 2018.

The following year they debuted with the EP Mistaken, going on to expand their lineup and refine their sound, balancing heavy guitar riffs with atmospheric, melodic arrangements. Thereafter, in 2023 they released a split EP, Eon Must Fail, with In Burial. Blossom Death now features both Katoikos and Makaronidi on lead vocals, Vassilis Koronas on lead guitar, Johny Litinakis on bass, with additional vocals from Evmara Katoikou.

Spirit is said to represent a shift toward more complex, emotionally charged dynamics. The tracks lean into the contrast between dark, introspective melodies and high-intensity instrumental sections, reflecting the band’s focus on themes of transformation and depth.

Tracks featured are: ‘Stone Kiss’, ‘Fallen’, ‘Morning After’, ‘Solitude’, ‘Spirit Of Life’ and ‘Before I Can See’. It can be ordered here and digitally here.
