Canadian rock band Von Groove have reunited under their classic lineup of Mladen on guitars, Michael Shotton on drums and vocals, and Matthew Gerrard on bass with a declaration that they are born to rock, as they unleash a single of that very name with an album to follow on 15th May through Frontiers Music Srl.
“It’s been a long time since the three of us made music together, but from the very first chord, the chemistry was undeniable,” said Mladen. “We poured our heart and soul into these 11 tracks and can’t wait to share them with our fans.” He continued, “‘Born To Rock’ celebrates our lifelong love of making and performing music. When rock n roll gets in your soul it never leaves. It’s a lifelong addiction.”
Founded in 1990, the band released a self titled debut in 1992 produced by Richie Zito and featuring future Journey drummer Deen Castronovo as a session musician. Mission Man (aka Chameleon in Europe), Test Of Faith and The Seventh Day would all follow, until the band went on hiatus in 2001, continuing to perform musically just separately.
Now, over 20 years later they’re back and opening title track ‘Born To Rock’ explodes with the same urgency and swagger as their iconic ‘Once Is Not Enough’, even quoting it with a subtle nod for longtime fans.
The Born To Rock album will feature the tracks: ‘Born To Rock’, ‘Fearless’, ‘Champion’, ‘Adrenaline’, ‘Angela’, ‘Undefeated’, ‘Do It All Over Again’, ‘Heart Of Forgiveness’, ‘Dreams’, ‘Waiting For The Sky To Fall’ and ‘Always Endlessly’. It can be ordered here.
