Talking about her new single, Cassidy said: “I instantly connected to ‘Nothing Left To Lose’ as it represents times when you feel so alone and in pain. You feel like no one is listening or really understands what you’ve been through. It’s when people twist things and lie to try and paint a picture that is fabricated. They manipulate others to suit their own agenda, making you feel like you’re going crazy. ‘Nothing Left To Lose’ is one of my favourite tracks off Bittersweet and I can’t wait to see what you think”.
At the age of 11, Cassidy met singer/songwriter Paul Laine (ex-Danger Danger, The Defiants), who then took on a mentoring role for her, as well as collaborating in songwriting and producing her music.
From early on, Cassidy has wanted to deliver a strong message through her music. In 2018, she released the song ‘Stand’, a heartfelt song about ‘standing up for yourself’ as a young woman. She continues to deliver that message, promoting anti-bullying through performances at many schools around Melbourne, Australia and is an active campaigner for the worldwide Metalheads Against Bullying organisation. Cassidy has built up a strong connection with her growing worldwide fanbase that has already seen her perform in America, Japan and the UK with the band.
Cassidy Paris released her debut full length album titled New Sensation in December 2023 . “My debut album was 80s infused, mixed with a current vibe. Influenced by rock gods such as Debbie Harry, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett & Lita Ford, I’m keen to put my spin on things in a modern original way”, she declared.
“This is the most honest and raw I’ve ever been with songs,” Paris said of the Bittersweet album. “This record feels like it’s a part of me. Like reading a diary of my life over the past couple of years. Releasing this is both so exciting and equally emotional because, when I started, I had no idea of the journey I would go on personally in my life”, she added. “It makes me beam with happiness that these songs are yours now. This record is love, strength and immense heartbreak. It’s emotions on a level I didn’t even know existed prior to this season of life. It truly lives up to its name in its entirety. I hope you to love it as much as I did creating it”.
Featuring songwriting contributions from Paul Laine and Steve Brown, Bittersweet is said to showcase Paris’s growth not just as a performer but as a songwriter with a message. Lyrically honest and emotionally charged, the album balances hook-filled anthems with heartfelt ballads, capturing both vulnerability and strength. A strong supporter of Metalheads Against Bullying, she regularly performs in schools around Melbourne, using her platform to inspire resilience and authenticity in young fans.
The third single taken from Bittersweet was ‘Getting Better’ about which she explained: “‘Getting Better’ is the missing puzzle piece to ‘Stronger’,” relating it to her previous single. “Together they tell an important story about overcoming difficult situations and not tolerating degrading and hurtful behaviour. You are strong and you are powerful. You are deserving of where you are, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. It is vital to me that people know my story and the truth. Through these songs, I am able to deliver that”.
Regarding ‘Stronger’ itself she noted:“This is a song about my experiences in life dealing with situations that can be difficult to get through,” said the singer. “I thought it would be only fitting to record this as it’s become an anthem to remind me that in life there will always be people who try and bring you down.
“I love performing this song on stage with my dad and Wicked Smile, even though some people thought I didn’t belong here. A big thanks to all the people who got behind me on this and helped put my own stamp on this song – my dad, Paul Laine, Pete Lesperance, Pete Newdeck, Harry Hess & Frontiers Music.” A determined character, Paris wants to make rock music a cool thing again among the mass populace, and inspire a new generation of younger fans to not only listen to rock ‘n’ roll, but maybe even pick up a guitar, instead of a phone.
Having recently embarked on a European Tour where she supported AOR band Harem Scarem, she also performed at various festivals and is scheduled to appear on the Monsters Of Rock Cruise in 2026 and returns to the UK for a full headline tour in 2026.
