Caught In The Slipstream World Of Sagntid

Up from the ashes comes a most unwelcome specter of the past, namely a 10-track compilation containing re-mixed and re-mastered songs dating from 2008-2010 by the now-defunct ambient/post-rock entity known as Sagntid, which was released on June 26.

Consisting of the entire debut album titled The Slipstream World of Sagntid and three additional compositions lifted from two other releases, Expressionist Sonic Images serves as a musical compendium of their author’s own favourite cuts, yet ones that sorely needed to be revisited and reworked before being brought to light again. As J.N. says, “The album was released via YouTube and Bandcamp years ago but sank without a trace and I always felt somewhat annoyed about that, or rather, I was disappointed in myself that I didn’t do more to promote it properly back then. Given that I still feel that it contains some interesting ideas and good material that were let down by a lousy production, a strong urge to revisit the original tracks and files and remix the whole cursed thing from scratch and then master it professionally had been at the back of my mind for ages. Expressionist Sonic Images was all about laying something to rest that had been haunting me for years. Even though Sagntid is no longer active as such, I simply needed to get this done and out of the way, and I am finally happy with these tunes.”

Tracklist:

  1. F.T. Wells (2025 Remix)
  2. Floodgate Moods (2025 Remix)
  3. Malaysian Dream Dolls (2025 Remix)
  4. The Cinematic Quality of Losing (2025 Remix)
  5. The Sore Bones of Bergen (2025 Remix)
  6. Some Nasty Crime Scene (2025 Remix)
  7. Devildriver Serum (2025 Remix)
  8. Flesh, and for What? (2025 Remix)
  9. Everything I Am to You (2025 Remix)
  10. Snakes of White String (2025 Remix)

All songs were composed and recorded by J.N. (2008-2010).
