On 14th September, at the sold-out PSD Bank Dome, Düsseldorf, the long-time boxing world champion Regina Halmich (1995 – 2007) and TV star Stefan Raab will meet in what’s been dubbed as The Final Fight. Also present will be Doro Pesch, as the metal queen supports her long-time friend with her specially composed entrance anthem ‘Justice For The Queen’ – and will apparently then join the excitement at the boxing ring.
Halmich defeated her male opponent in 2001 and 2007. Now, The Final Fight will see the boxing queen and the TV star exchange blows for the third time in front of a television audience of millions.
“As you know, I’m a big boxing fan and it’s a great pleasure and honour for me to sing the walk in anthem for my long-time friend Regina Halmich,” said Pesch. “I am convinced that Regina will also win this third fight against Raab and I am keeping my fingers crossed for her!”
To celebrate the day, and in honour of Halmich, a CD and also limited fan box set entitled Doro – Anthems For The Champion will be released on 13th September, available via Rare Diamonds Productions/Rough Trade.
The album will include the new walk in anthem ‘Justice For The Queen’ alongside an assortment of battle hymns, including material from Pesch’s latest album Conqueress – Forever Strong And Proud.
Besides the CD there is a box set including the CD digipak and it is enhanced by a pair of mini boxing gloves with a DORO logo for the car mirror and a cool snap hook.
