Bristol’s emo/alt-rock quartet, downcast, are back with some exciting announcements! After making a triumphant return in April with their hit single ‘bittersweet,’ downcast are thrilled to reveal their upcoming EP and give fans another glimpse of what’s on the horizon.
The new EP, titled WTF HAPPENED—a sentiment many can resonate with at various points in life—is set for release on September 6th 2024. The latest preview from this EP comes in the form of the fresh single ‘raincheck,’ which continues the retro 90s storyline introduced in their previous video.
Frontman Liam Edwards tells us that “‘raincheck’ is a love song with a hint of angst about my own mistakes and being stuck in a day job that I hated.”
Liam continues to talk about their forthcoming EP stating that it’s “a collection of songs that reflect on the events of the past couple of years. It explores feelings of nostalgia, anger, romance and grief. The title is inspired by those moments where you look back at how simple and carefree your life used to be and wonder what happened”.
