Progressive metal titans Dream Theater have just unleashed a scorching live performance video for ‘Night Terror’, and honestly? It’s everything you’d want from these legends. The track, which earned them their fourth GRAMMY nomination for Best Metal Performance, comes from their 2025 album Parasomnia, and this live rendition is our first proper taste of their upcoming concert film Quarantième: Live à Paris.
Recorded during their sold-out 40th anniversary show at the Adidas Arena in Paris, this is Dream Theater at their finest. James LaBrie, John Petrucci, John Myung, Jordan Rudess, and the reunited Mike Portnoy delivered a career spanning setlist that included ‘Metropolis Pt. 1’, ‘Panic Attack’, ‘Octavarium’, and ‘Pull Me Under’.
“We are truly humbled and grateful to receive our fourth GRAMMY nomination,” the band shared. “After 40 years together, it still means so much to be recognised by the music community. When we began writing ‘Night Terror’, it felt special to us on a personal level, so to see it resonate in this way is something we don’t take for granted.”
The full Quarantième: Live à Paris release drops on 28th November via Inside Out Music/Sony Music. Collectors will want the Limited Deluxe 3CD + 3Blu-ray Artbook with 68 pages of photography and artwork by Hugh Syme, or the Limited Deluxe 180g 4LP boxset. The Blu-ray comes with Dolby Atmos, 5.1 Surround, and high-resolution stereo mixes.
Four decades in, Dream Theater are still pushing boundaries, still earning GRAMMY nominations, and still giving their fans exactly what they crave.
