Ella Fence Don’t Mind

Award-winning Australian singer/songwriter Ella Fence releases a double single in ‘I Don’t Mind’/’Take My Time’ on 21st July, through Golden Robot Records.

‘I Don’t Mind’ has been described as a “Power rock blast that takes its lead from 80s female new wavers, The Go Go’s and The Bangles”. The song is upbeat and hooky, accompanied by frantic garage guitar, Booker T keys and Fences. “It’s a burst of cool, a cocktail of wild. It’s frisky and spirited and will energise you!” apparently.

‘Take My Time’ has been described as “Dramatic and intense” and “A tune that gradually builds”. Fence showcases her voice in this one, and is said to deliver a “Masterclass in songwriting” even as she expresses vulnerability as well as a menacing hostility in the song.

Name checked stylistically with the likes of Saint Vincent and PJ Harvey, 2022 will see Ella Fence releasing a series of new singles, culminating in the arrival of a new album. She has teamed up with local Australian and American producers to create an unfolding body of work that embraces a renewed interest in guitar-based rock & roll mashed with the avant-garde.

Her new music is intended as authentic, personalised and avoids the musical tweet-sized nonsense, that passes for today’s pop sound. Aiming for the literate and sensory, and unapologetically demanding.

Ella Fence intends to breathe life into sonic art that transcends trivialities and the mind-numbingly banal. Ella’s badass rock aesthetic is a mean 1000 Yard stare, with guitar swung low.   In the time-honoured tradition of classic Australian rock bands like AC/DC, she’s not work shy and tours relentlessly.

‘I Don’t Mind’/’Take My Time’ can be ordered here.
