Europe are taking The Final Countdown on the road for its 40th anniversary, and honestly, if you’ve ever found yourself air-synth-ing that iconic opening riff, this tour is for you.
The Swedish rockers will hit 19 cities across 12 countries in 2026, with UK dates confirmed as part of the run. The setlist promises a career retrospective before the band plays The Final Countdown in its entirety. It’s only the second time they’ve performed the album front to back, which feels rather remarkable for a record that spent over 60 weeks on the American Billboard charts.
That title track hasn’t exactly faded into obscurity either. In 2022, Europe became the first Swedish band to hit a billion YouTube views for a single song. That number now sits somewhere near 1.4 billion, which is genuinely staggering when you think about it.
The band has kept busy since 1986. Eight more studio albums, a Grammy, a Classic Rock Award, and crucially, the same classic lineup still intact. Their 12th record is due in 2026, recorded at RMV Studios in Stockholm with producer Tom Dalgety, whose credits include Ghost, Royal Blood, and Opeth.
Vocalist Joey Tempest says the production will match the occasion: “In a blink of an eye 40 years have passed and we’re about to perform TFC in full for only the second time in our career.”
Support comes from Canadian outfit The Damn Truth, fresh off their Bob Rock-produced fourth album, with Scottish legends GUN joining for all UK shows.
Tickets go on sale Friday 28th November at 10am, with UK presales from Wednesday 26th at 10am.
