FM Just Walk Away on New Single & Move Newcastle Tour Date

Due to unforeseen circumstances, British rock band FM has moved their Newcastle concert to Anarchy Brew on Sunday 7th September. Tickets are available from The Gig Cartel and FM’s website. Special guest at the Newcastle show is Brave Rival.

Coinciding with the news, FM has released a new single ‘Just Walk Away’

’Just Walk Away’ is one of FM’s strongest ballads to date,” said FM’s frontman, Steve Overland. “The song builds from acoustic guitars to an epic ending, tells a great story that has real soul. It’s a favourite for me from the new album.”

It’s up to the listener’s discretion if ’Just Walk Away’ is one of FM’s best ballads, but with so many in their repertoire it’s hard keeping score. What can’t be denied is that it’s a mature, reflective – if not regretful – love song with an understated but epic arrangement.

On their September 2025 UK tour, FM will perform songs from their past 14 albums including their 1986 debut album Indiscreet, plus Tough It Out, Metropolis, Synchronized and their forthcoming studio album Brotherhood, plus many more.

Formed in the 80s by the Overland brothers, FM has become one of the UK’s seminal rock bands. The band features Steve Overland (Vocals), Merv Goldsworthy (Bass), Pete Jupp (Drums), Jem Davis (Keyboards)and Jim Kirkpatrick (Guitar).

“From our meeting in a Notting Hill pub in 1984 to our one off comeback gig at Firefest 2007, it’s great to now tour beyond our 40th Anniversary shows,” said FM’s drummer, Pete Jupp. “Who’d have thought we’d reach such a milestone?”

Aside from Brave Rival, FM’s special guests through selected dates of the tour will be Jack J Hutchinson and Rosalie Cunningham.
