Fresh from a tour as guests on The Scorpions US tour, Thundermother lead vocalist Guernica Mancini has released a solo single, ‘Inception‘ through Golden Robot Records, alongside an accompanying video that you can check out here at RAMzine.
‘Inception’ toys with the idea of a rebirth; a place in time where you have to get up, dust yourself and rise from the ashes with no limitations.
‘Inception‘ is the rock singer’s first solo single, and it actually premiered on Saturday 29th October as the walkout song for WBA Asia Boxing Champion Linn Sandstrom, in her UK debut for the main WBA Intercontinental Title event at York Hall in London.
Music has always been a big part of Mancini’s life, from her childhood days in a church choir to forming her first band at the age of 14. In 2007, she enrolled at the prestigious Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, California, where she won a song-writing contest. This led her to record with famed music producer Darryl Swann, who’s worked with acts such as Black-Eyed Peas, John Frusciante and Macy Gray.
During her time at the Musicians Institute, she formed the all-female band Inglourious, performing at music venues in LA as well as Las Vegas, including the House of Blues, Hard Rock Café, The Key Club and The Roxy. 2010 saw her team up with former member of Megadeth guitarist Jeff Young to become lead singer in Souls On 11. Five years later, she returned back to Sweden, forming The Royal Ruckus, and touring around Europe for the next four years, until she joined the Swedish all female rock band Thundermother in 2017.
Lead vocalist for the last three Thundermother albums, Guernica Mancini has also contributed to the songwriting one the more recent releases. They have forged a successful career at the helm with over 300,000 monthly listeners and millions of streams. They have also toured all over the world, played massive Festivals such as Wacken and the Sweden Rock Festival, appeared on The Kiss Cruise among others, and supported The Dead Daisies, Backyard Babies, Rose Tattoo, and most recently The Scorpions. In 2020 she sang with Hank Von Hell on his single ‘Crown’, and in 2021 did likewise with King Zebra on their ‘Wall Of Confusion’ single.
“Getting to do something creatively that’s completely my own is something that I’ve been longing to do since I was a very young girl. It’s scary but at the same time so exciting and fun! I feel very fortunate to have gotten this opportunity,” said Mancini, adding, “More than anything I feel so happy that my bandmates in Thundermother are really supportive and excited for me. So now let the Guernica solo legacy begin.”
To this end Mancini has been working on a solo side project fusing rock and pop. Sonically, the first single, ‘Inception‘, features groovy guitar riffs backed by heavy drums and powerful vocals that display an impressive range, clarity and that perfect amount of grit for which she is becoming widely renowned.
