Iron Maiden are doing things differently for their only UK appearance of 2026, transforming it into a full blown festival event at Knebworth Park. Dubbed ‘Eddfest’ after the band’s iconic mascot Eddie The Head, the event will celebrate five decades of one of heavy metal’s most important bands.
The weekend will build towards Iron Maiden‘s headline performance on the main stage, where they will play material from their first nine studio albums as part of the ongoing Run For Your Lives world tour. Support comes from The Darkness, The Hu, Airbourne, and The Almighty, making for a bill that covers everything from glam rock swagger to Mongolian metal.
Manager Rod Smallwood explained the thinking behind the move, saying the band knew that if they were going to play the UK in 2026 it had to be something very different. Knebworth Park was chosen because it offers the space required to put together something groundbreaking for fans, space that simply is not available in stadiums.
The Run For Your Lives tour kicked off last year with a European leg, including a massive 70,000 capacity show at London Stadium. Iron Maiden have also confirmed that their final two shows of 2026 will take place at K-Arena in Yokohama, Japan on 24th and 25th November, after which the band will step away from the live stage for the whole of 2027 before returning in 2028.
Fifty years on from their formation and Iron Maiden are still finding ways to make every show feel like a special event. Eddfest might just be the biggest one yet.
