Joanne Shaw Taylor has teamed up with Australian guitar powerhouse Orianthi on a fiery new single, ‘What Good Is My Love?’, out now via Journeyman Records.
It’s a pairing that makes complete sense on paper and delivers everything you’d hope for in practice. Two of modern blues rock’s finest guitarists going head to head on a track about the painful moment when love simply isn’t returned. We’ve all been there, and Taylor captures that gut punch of realisation with soulful honesty.
The track builds from a slow burning groove into electrifying guitar exchanges between the two, Orianthi‘s blazing solo adding a whole new dimension to the song’s emotional weight. Their styles are different, blending raw blues grit with soaring melodic leads.
‘What Good Is My Love?’ follows the recently released ‘Hell Or High Water’, a blues gospel anthem and serves as another preview of Taylor’s forthcoming studio album due later this year.
Taylor is currently on a Spring US headline tour, with European summer dates confirmed including Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands in May. UK fans will be hoping for more home dates to follow.
