Kasabian have unleashed their explosive new track ‘Great Pretender’, the second single from their forthcoming ninth studio album Act III, which arrives on July 17.
The track follows on from ‘Hippie Sunshine’, the album’s wavy first taste, and is an infectiously euphoric anthem built for festival stages. Written by Serge Pizzorno and produced by Serge and Mark Ralph, it will undoubtedly blow the lid off Finsbury Park this summer.
Serge described the track as being about imposter syndrome, not as a weakness but as a sign you’re on the edge of something real. He called it that feeling right before you step on stage, when the lights go down and it’s now or never.
The band kicked off 2026 with a collaboration with Calvin Harris on dance floor banger ‘Release The Pressure’, and have also been announced for a special guest appearance on the brand new Sky One Saturday Night Live UK this Saturday, April 4.
Act III was recorded at The Sergery and Club Ralph and produced by Serge and Mark Ralph. It features 10 tracks of guitar-driven, psyche-infused pop alongside three interludes, packed with hooks and a strong dose of swagger. Kasabian‘s last seven albums have all gone straight in at number one on the UK Official Album Chart, and Act III looks set to continue that run.
The band returns to London this summer for a massive headline show at Finsbury Park on July 4, with support from Louis Dunford, Razorlight, The K’s, Miles Kane and SOFY. The show is already over 95% sold. They will also play a string of festivals across the UK and Europe including Boardmasters, TRNSMT, Victorious Festival and Mad Cool Festival.
Kasabian are: Serge Pizzorno, Chris Edwards, Ian Matthews and Tim Carter.
