Wolfgang Flür, iconic member of Kraftwerk’s classic lineup from 1974’s Autobahn to 1986’s Electric Café, will release his highly anticipated new album, Times, on 28th March 2025 – Thhis independent album showcases his continued evolution as a solo artist and features collaborations with some of the biggest names in electronic and synth-pop music.
A celebration of past, present, and future, Times brings together a stellar cast of contributors, including German techno pioneers U96, Boris Blank (Yello), Thomas Vangarde (ex-Daft Punk), Juan Atkins, Anthony Rother, Emil Schult (Kraftwerk collaborator), and Peter Hook (ex-New Order). With its combination of vintage retro-electro stylings and forward-thinking sounds, the album is a bold statement from one of electronic music’s original trailblazers.
Flür‘s musical journey began with Kraftwerk, where he was engaged in the sound of electronic music’s golden age with his minimal electro drumming. Today, he holds the torch for the continuing creativity of his generation of electronic music pioneers: inspiring and entertaining, while still pushing boundaries within his unique oeuvre of highly melodic, narrative led, retro- futurism. His music is immersive and though he grapples with the accelerated passing of time and the rapidity of changes therein, he does it with a celebratory optimism; a relentless, infectious hope for humanity.
“Times reflects both the rapid acceleration of change in our world and the enduring power of human creativity,” he said. “I wanted this album to connect with listeners on both a musical and emotional level, blending nostalgia with a vision for the future.”
Tracks featured are: ‘Posh’ (ft. Juan Atkins), ‘Planet In Fever’ (ft. U96 & Emil Schult), ‘Cinema’ (ft. Fabrice Lig), ‘Far Away’, ‘Future One’ (ft. Newmen), Über_all’ (ft. Peter Hook & Thomas Vangarde), ‘Magazine’ (Imppu rework), ‘Property’ (ft. Anthony Rother), ‘Times’, ‘Global Youth’ (ft. Boris Blank & Emil Schult), ‘Sexersizer’ and ‘Hildebrandlied’ (both ft. U96), and ‘Monday To The Moon’ (ft. Peter Hook & Thomas Vangarde).
Times follows Wolfgang Flür, critically acclaimed 2022 album Magazine 1, that showcased his ability to blend classic Kraftwerk-inspired sounds with contemporary electronic sensibilities. With Times, he continues to push boundaries, delivering a richly immersive experience that is as timeless as it is forward-thinking.
The album will be available on CD, vinyl, and digital platforms.
