Leprous’ Einar Solberg Unveils Vox Occulta Track

Leprous’ Einar Solberg has shared ‘Medulla’, the second single from his upcoming solo album Vox Occulta, due 24th April via InsideOutMusic.

The track arrives with a video directed by Leo Liberti, which you can check out below.

Speaking about the song, Solberg explained that it began with a riff after picking up an 8-string plugin, and the main idea came together quickly from there. He described the feel as physical, something you sense in your bones rather than just hear, which led to the concept of marrow. At its heart, ‘Medulla’ is about the part of himself that stayed strong through everything he’s been through, the core that held no matter what.

While there’s no full orchestra on this track, it still carries a cinematic edge. Violinist Chris Baum (Bent Knee) added real strings, with Keli Guðjónsson (Agent Fresco) on drums, Pierre Danel (Novelists) on guitar, and Jed Lingat on bass bringing the song to life.

Vox Occulta was recorded in collaboration with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and features contributions from guitarists Ben Levin (ex-Bent Knee) and John Browne (Monuments). The album was mixed by Adam Noble, known for his work with Nothing But Thieves and Biffy Clyro, and co-produced with David Castillo.

Solberg’s second solo record takes a deeply personal approach, drawing on over 20 years as a fan of classical music and soundtracks. Thematically, it follows on from his debut 16, but where that album revisited the death of his father and past struggles with anxiety, Vox Occulta is a warts and all self-portrait, exploring how he views the world in 2026.

Vox Occulta will be available as a limited CD digipak, gatefold white/black 2LP, a very limited gatefold transparent red 2LP, and digitally. Pre-orders are available now.

Einar Solberg will be touring internationally this Autumn, starting with a date at The Garage in London on 18th September.
