Lord of the Lost & Saltatio Mortis: ‘I’m A Diamond’

Lord of the Lost have never been a band content to sit still. The Hamburg six-piece have spent over a decade proving that genre is merely a suggestion, and now, with the final chapter of their OPVS NOIR trilogy on the horizon, they’re reminding us exactly why we love them. Their latest single, ‘I’m A Diamond’, is a collaboration with German medieval metal torchbearers Saltatio Mortis, and it’s everything you’d hope for when two bands with this much creative chemistry come together.

What makes Chris Harms such a compelling frontman is a mixture of his aesthetic and vision. Through these collaborations, he’s introducing us to likeminded artists we might never have discovered. Harms commented, “A song together with Saltatio Mortis was long overdue. Our bands have been connected for ages, and Alea and I share a deep friendship.”

OPVS NOIR Vol. 3, due April 10, 2026 via Napalm Records, is described as the most adventurous instalment of the trilogy. Following OPVS NOIR Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, both released in 2025, it intertwines heavy guitars and dark electronica with cinematic orchestrals and compassionate messages. The eleven track record fetures exciting collaborations: Wednesday 13 lends his horror punk snarl to the stomping ‘I Hate People’, departing Kissin’ Dynamite frontman Hannes Braun delivers the bombastic ‘La Vie Est Hell’ (inspired by Baudelaire’s Les Fleurs du mal), Xandria‘s Ambre Vourvahis brings whimsical emotion to ‘When Did The Love Break?’, and Cats In Space‘s Damien Edwards joins for the captivating ‘Take Me Far Away’.

Lord of the Lost are currently on tour across North America with The Birthday Massacre and Wednesday 13, before heading to Australia and then embarking on a mammoth European headline run. If OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 is the conclusion this trilogy deserves, April cannot come soon enough.
