Seconds To Impact with Mason

Canadian Melodic AOR band Mason has signed with Eonian Records with their sophomore album, Seconds To Impact, out worldwide on 1st September, and their new single ‘All I Ever Wanted’, out now,

Fronted by Canadian-born multi-instrumentalist Marcus Mason, Mason is said to deliver a fresh yet familiar take on classic hard rock. The band features Mason (Lead vocals, bass, rhythm guitar), Jimmy Katone (Drums), Peter Penhallow (Keyboards), and Josef ‘Peppi’ Gebhard (Lead guitar), all seasoned musicians.

Following the success of their 2024 debut, I Can’t Wait (Lions Pride Music), Mason said of Seconds to Impact: “This album takes everything we started and elevates it. Every track is crafted to stay with you, whether it’s a hard-hitting anthem or a smooth, melodic cut.”

For Mason, joining Eonian Records is more than just a milestone, it’s the fulfilment of a long-held dream. “I’ve been a fan of Eonian since 2009. I still remember my first purchases from the label, Charlemagne, Pistol Dawn, and Shake City,” he recalled. “To now be part of their artist family is deeply meaningful. Huge thanks to Ryan Northrop and Stephen Craig for their support and belief in this project.”

Hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Marcus Mason, (pronounced Ma-Zone), has been a passionate force in the music scene since the early 2000s. Born in 1988, Marcus has spent nearly two decades honing his craft, both on stage and in the studio, driven by a deep love for the golden eras of hard rock and pop. “Growing up in the ’90s and early 2000s, I was captivated by the bold melodies and polished production of late ’70s, ’80s, and early ’90s rock,” Mason said. “While my peers gravitated toward rap, hip-hop, and punk rock revival, I was chasing unforgettable hooks, vibrant synths, thunderous drums, and soaring choruses, elements that now define my sound.”

Mason is also a published author and media personality. His book The Greatest Rock And Roll Band You Never Heard Of became a #1 rock title on Amazon and led to an appearance on Breakfast Television in Toronto, further cementing his influence beyond the music industry. In addition to his solo success, Marcus Mason has built a strong reputation as a producer and collaborator. His work on reissue and legacy projects has garnered international acclaim, with several albums topping digital and physical sales charts.

In 2024, Mason’s debut album, I Can’t Wait, was ranked the #6 Album of the Year by Germany’s Rock IT Magazine. Commercially, the album made an impressive debut, hitting #17 in monthly sales at Germany’s Pride & Joy Music Store and selling out its initial pressing. In Japan, the record climbed to #2 in monthly sales at Beyond Battle Records Store during November and December 2024. Almost one year later (June 2025) it was still a top 10 best seller in the Hard Rock Category.

In addition to the core band, Seconds to Impact showcases an impressive roster of guest musicians: Rick Mead on guitars (Helix, Syre, Platinum Overdose), Markus Pfeffer on guitars (Barnabas Sky, Atlantis Drive, Lazerus Dream), Jon Willoughby on Guitars (Bombay, Rio, Big Talk, Leo Lyons Band, Starseedz), John McAfee on guitars (The Affair, Big Game, Whitehead & Mac), Steve Rodford on percussion (Rio, Leo Lyons Band, John Verity, Asia, The Zombies), tSooraj (Snarm) on backing vocals, Tim Thompson on backing vocals (Aces Wild, Abandoned Souls)

“Working with this incredible group of artists has been a career highlight,” Mason said. “They each brought something exceptional to the music.”

Seconds To Impact features the tracks: ‘Hard To Tame’, ‘All I Ever Wanted’, ‘Waiting For You’, ‘You Don’t Know Me’, ‘How I (Carry On)’, ‘Crime Of Love’, 7. Never Be This Way’, ‘Crescent Moon’, ‘Long Way To Go’, ‘It Doesn’t Matter Anymore’, ‘Lost And Lonely’, ‘Picking Up the Pieces (Bonus Track)’  and ‘Baptized By Fire (Bonus Track)’. You’ll be able to order the album as of 15th August.
