The highly anticipated new location of MetalDays 2023 has now been announced by organisers. After years of searching, they settled on Vista on Lake Velenje, Slovenia. 

The new location will feature water sports on the lake, camping on-site, and 5 stages!

It’s hard not to compare this new location to the old location in Tolmin, where so many memories and good times were had (take it from this writer, who met her partner at the festival in Tolmin, at the beach bar – a truly stunning location and forever special place and we know many hold similar memories). 

It’s perhaps best to look at MetalDays 2023 as a new festival, as it has so many new elements to it now, yes it will be different, but what MetalDays brings along with it is the atmosphere, the dedicated metal heads new and old, and an absolutely amazing line-up!  MetalDays 2023 will be exciting for all the new facilities there are to discover, and it’ll still have the element of nostalgia as we reunite with metalheads from across the globe. 

On the line-up is Helloween, Anthrax with their 40 years anniversary, Heaven Shall Burn, In Flames, Kreator, At the Gates, Paradise lost, Kataklysm, Beartooth, I am Morbid, Tesseract .

Most recently announced is: American Death Metal Legends VITAL REMAINS, Swedish ORBIT CULTURE, Heavy Gothic Rockers from USA UNTO OTHERS and Portuguese THE VOYNICH CODE – and after a canceled performance last year, NAPALM DEATH are finally returning to MetalDays.

MetalDays takes place in Velenje on 31st of July – 5th of August, 2023.
