Myr’s Helvegen Gets Vinyl Treatment

Helvegen the debut album from black metal band Myr that came out last June is now available on vinyl, in a strictly limited edition format. The LP is limited to just 100 copies and available to purchase exclusively via the band’s Bandcamp page..

Following the digital release of Helvegen in June, Myr is offering collectors a physical artefact to match the album’s dark, untamed spirit. The band continues to build momentum, having previously released two music videos from the record: Saturnine Child and ‘Brennt. Both videos were created in collaboration with Grupa 13 (Behemoth, Amon Amarth etc.), showcasing the album’s thematic depth.

Svartanand and TZommer, two seasoned figures from the metal community, are behind Myr who are said to deliver “a sound that is both raw and melodic, drawing deeply from the wellspring of Scandinavian legends and the traditions of Northern black metal”.

Based in Norway, Myr has been described as “an immersive experience into the dark and untamed spirit of Northern black metal”. Helvegen being a haunting exploration of mysticism and darkness, invoking the brutal intensity of the Nordic wilderness. Fans of SatyriconBathory, and Dissection will find a kinship in Myr‘s sound. The album is classic black metal, blended with a contemporary melodic sensibility.

The band has also confirmed their first major live appearance, announcing they will perform at the prestigious Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo, Norway in 2026.

They commented: “The sound of Helvegen was forged in the cold, and it demands to be heard on vinyl, it’s the definitive way to experience the album’s atmosphere. Announcing Inferno 2026 is the next crucial step. We are ready to bring the darkness of the North to the stage.”

“Helvegen” was mixed and mastered by the renowned Tore Stjerna (WatainMayhem, Tribulation) at Necromorbus Studio in Sweden, and features the tracks: ‘December Coma’, ‘In Perpetum’, ‘Brennt’, ‘Røkkr’, ‘Saturnine Child’, ‘Naraka’, ‘Proch’, ‘Tungsten’ and ‘Kaldr’.
