Polish black metal/blackened progressive rock outfit Narrenwind will release their fifth full-length album, Gorzkie Plony (Translated as “bitter harvest”), on 22nd September.
Ahead of that, Narrenwind present ‘I-II-I-II’, a powerful cover of the Maanam track. This is more than just a tribute to a classic; it’s a homage to one of the most significant Polish alternative bands of the 80s.
The timeless lyrics of Olga ‘Kora’ Sipowicz have been reimagined within Narrenwind‘s blackened heavy metal sound, that draws heavily from 80s and 90s metal classics and is inspired by legends like Bathory, Armia and Kat. The entire piece is imbued with the spirit of Polish poetry and a deep appreciation for the original.
The Gorzkie Plony album finds the band returning to Pagan Records, the label that released their first two records. Narrenwind‘s last two albums having been released via Ævil‘s Wheelwright Productions.
The band described Gorzkie Plony as “a return to the spirit of our inaugural work”. The album was mixed and mastered by Haldor Grunberg at Satanic Audio. Further details regarding the album release and pre-order info will be announced soon.
