Nate Bergman, the Nashville based singer songwriter formerly of reggae rockers Lionize, is heading back to the UK and Ireland this May for his first run of headline shows, alongside news of a brand new EP, The Death of Americana.
If you caught Bergman on his UK dates last year supporting Chuck Ragan and Amigo the Devil, you’ll already know this guy has one of those voices that stops a room dead. There’s a rawness to it that cuts through the noise, equal parts Sam Cooke soul and whiskey soaked Americana grit, perfect for the intimate venues he’s chosen for this run.
The headline dates kick off on 7th May in Birmingham at The Flapper, running through Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Belfast and Dublin before wrapping up at the brand new State Fayre Festival in Chelmsford on 28th June. State Fayre is being billed as the UK’s biggest gathering of Americana, rock, country and folk music, and Bergman is a natural fit for that lineup.
Bergman has described the forthcoming EP as the most visceral music he’s put out since his 2022 debut solo album Metaphysical Change, a record that featured collaborations with Brit Turner of Blackberry Smoke, Frank Iero of My Chemical Romance and Per Wiberg of Opeth.
He’s also been turning heads with a cover of AFI‘s ‘Girl’s Not Grey’ that aired on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show in February. If you haven’t heard it yet, it’s well worth seeking out.
Tickets for the headline dates are on sale now at natebergmansings.com.
