Hailing from Ireland’s capital, Nebularis is a three-piece technical metal project where the intension is to encapsulate the essence of sci-fi, cinematic film scores, with powerhouse progressive arrangements that exceed expectations. The band’s debut single, ‘Cataclysm’ is out now and a precursor to their full-length album, that is currently getting the finishing touches by engineer/producer/musician Ben Wanders (The Enigma Division).
Speaking of the new track, the band stated: “Battered and broken, the remnants of humanity flee a dying Earth. As they sail through the stellar void in search of a new home, will they survive the ordeal, or fall prey to their darker instincts?”
The initial concept for the project was to be a solo endeavour by guitarist, Mo Sheerin. She set out to find a drummer and that led her to cross paths with Damian Dziennik. He being well established, having served drum duties with many bands in Ireland, shine through with a stunning percussive threshold. Sheerin then recruited Terry McHugh as bassist for the album, decribed by many as “the Jaco Pastorius of Northern Ireland”. As the sounds grew larger, they set their eyes and ears on obtaining a vocalist that fit the bill, and that’s where Hytham Martin entered the picture.
Former founding member of Eyesclosed, and former member of Lluther, Martin’s range and phenomenal balance made heads turns in the studio. The singer also had stage presence, and a talent for writing harmonious vocal melodies.
Over the next few months, they set out on working on an album together. Slowly but surely realising a full band was inevitably the way to go. Completing song after song. With the addition of synthesisers, choirs, and orchestral elements, the Astral and progressive broth has been a-brewing non-stop.
With three singles to be released this year, as well as a full length album (mixed and mastered by Ben Wanders at Wanderland Studios), Nebularis will aim to bring a fresh element to eyes, and ears.
Nebularis‘ debut single, ‘Cataclysm’ is available on all digital platforms.
