With their seventh studio album Könige Der Nacht (translated as “Kings Of The Night”) due on 1st Augsy from Metalville Records, Neurotox make an impressive return and prove once again why they are firmly established in the German-speaking punk rock scene.
For over 12 years, the band has stood for honest, uncompromising punk rock – and that’s exactly what this album delivers: an intense and unembellished listening experience that gets under your skin.
The songs on Könige der Nacht are like stories from real life – sometimes loud and angry, sometimes vulnerable and profound. Between rebellion and melancholy, the band explores the whole range of human emotions. Thematically, it’s about friendship, loyalty, betrayal, falling down and the irrepressible urge not to go under. Neurotox manages to combine personal experiences and social issues while remaining authentic.
Songs such as ‘Nichts Zu Verlieren’, ‘Lebendig’ and ‘Sorgenkind’ are powerful anthems that not only make you think, but also invite you to sing along and empathise. They combine driving guitar riffs with gripping lyrics and show the band’s raw energy in its purest form. But Neurotox can also do things differently: ‘Wie Ich Dich’ and ‘Versprochen Ist Versprochen ’ strike a calmer note, but remain just as haunting and intense.
Musically, the album offers a successful mix of fast punk rock numbers and emotional mid-tempo pieces. Neurotox sound more mature in 2025 without denying their roots. They retain the toughness and honesty that their fans have appreciated for years, while at the same time continuing to develop.
Könige Der Nacht is an attitude to life. An outcry against resignation and an ode to those who go out at night in search of themselves. Neurotox – featuring Benny Götzken (Vocals, guitar), Marius Stark (Guitar) and Alex Schuller (Drums) – show with this album that they are far from finished – on the contrary: they are on fire more than ever.
Tracks featured are: ‘Nichts Zu Verlieren’, ‘Sorgenkind’, ‘Könige Der Nacht’, ‘Bock Auf Streit’, ‘Nichts Gutes’, ‘Lebendig’, ‘Mama Hat Gesagt’ (Cover –Sido, Esther Graff, SDP), ‘Herzen In Beton’, ‘Schwarz zu Blau’, ‘Wie Ich Dich’, ‘Versprochen Ist Versprochen’ and ‘Scherben Pech Und Dreck’.
