Nihilism from David Galas

American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and long-time member of darkwave band Lycia, David Galas has released his solo album, The Nihilist, via These Hands Melt.

The Nihilist finds Galas returning to a raw celebration of his post-punk roots. Described as his most immediate yet fatalistic songbook to date, the album is drenched in apocalyptic pessimism with sounds that carry forward the legacy of bands like The Mission, Mephisto Walz and Joy Division.

All 15 songs were written, performed, recorded and produced by David Galas. Visuals were handled by No Faith/Federico Salvador, design by Lucia Macip and These Hands Melt, while cover photography was completed by Michalina Wozniak.

The Nihilist delivers “a haunting yet driving sound, ensuring that the fading hopes of our world have never sounded this good on a goth dancefloor”.

The album is available on CD (limited to 300 copies) and digital formats from These Hands Melt, Bandcamp and Spotify.
