ODC’s Twisted Love

French alternative metal band ODC has a new single out in ‘My Name Is Gold’ ahead of their Twisted Love album that will be out as of 31st October via BLKIIBLK.

Commenting on the new single, the band stated: “This song is a provocative satire of greed and fame obsession. We wanted to expose a world where human value only shines when it’s coated in gold. It’s heavy, ironic, and in-your-face – and that’s exactly how we like it. It’s for anyone craving heavy music with bold aesthetics and something to say”.

Available for streaming, you can check out the video for ‘My Name Is Gold’ here at RAMzine.

Twisted Love is said to bring ODC’s vision of modern alternative metal to life. The band’s motto, “Forget rules, forget boxes”, summing up this hybrid and liberated debut.

Commenting on the album, the band stated: “With Twisted Love, we wanted to show that metal can be both powerful and elegant – emotional, modern, and unafraid to break the rules. This album is about pushing boundaries by blending genres and influences while staying true to who we are: delivering heavy music that moves both body and soul.

“Lyrically, Twisted Love explores the breaking points of human connection but also carries a message of hope: accepting our shadows to heal and rebuild. It’s for anyone drawn to heavy music that refuses to fit into categories”, they continued.

Previously, the band took a darker, more provocative turn with the single ‘My Only Fan’ featuring SUN. “This song merges sharp, syncopated riffs with sleek electronic textures and two commanding female voices – a haunting lead by Celia Do (ODC’s frontwoman) and a raw, unrestrained scream from SUN, the featured guest,” said the band. “It’s dark, cinematic, and seductive, diving into the blurred line between desire and obsession. The track explores themes of control, exhibition, and emotional detachment, dressed in the atmosphere of neon-lit nights and luxury gone sour”.

With a polished production, dynamic structure, and vulnerable lyrics, ‘Love, I Tore It Apart’, was said to place ODC firmly in the new wave of genre-bending metal acts. Commenting on that track, the band stated: “The track blends heavy, syncopated guitar riffs with electronic textures and powerful, emotional vocals – a bold and cinematic take on modern metal. It dives deep into themes of toxic love, identity loss, and emotional struggle, capturing the chaos of a relationship that slowly destroys from the inside”.

ODC is the soundtrack of a hybrid generation. A sonic uppercut, balancing raw power and elegance. It’s also the voice of a generation searching for meaning – standing at the crossroads of styles, cultures, and influences.

Formed in Paris in 2017, ODC is the result of two worlds coming together: the world of Celia Do, a vocalist with a striking identity, and that of a composer driven by the same fire – the desire to create an alternative metal project that breaks free from conventions: bold, modern, and uncompromising. From this spark, a true sonic and visual odyssey emerged.

ODC – named after Do’s stage name acronym – became a totally creative space, where heavy riffs, catchy melodies, and contemporary electronic textures collide in a unique blend of raw energy and polished aesthetic. ODC is a bold blend of metal, modern rock and immersive electronic atmospheres.

Inspired by artists such as Devin Townsend, Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park and BMTH, ODC doesn’t fit in any box. The band asserts its own voice — powerful, hybrid, sharp and emotional. Their songs are modern mantras, telling stories of freedom, downfall, and resilience. Music that hits hard and hits deep. A constant dialogue between introspection and explosion.

The band is built around four distinct artistic personalities: Celia Do (lead singer, founder and producer, the rock frontwoman of the band), Sonny, a.k.a. MX MNK (a bassist with roots in hardcore and black metal, and a trash rapper with visceral energy), Raphaël (an 8-string guitarist blending classic rock, hard rock, and atmospheric textures), and Hector (a drummer forged in the death metal scene, delivering explosive rhythmic power).

After a well-received debut EP in 2019 (Ending The Boredom), ODC carved their path through a series of powerful singles between 2020 and 2023, asserting their hybrid identity and ability to break genre boundaries. In 2024, the project took a major leap forward: writing their first full-length album, produced in Nashville by Kellen McGregor (Memphis May Fire).

Lead singer Celia Do commented on the band’s signing to BLKIIBLK: “We’re beyond excited to join the BLKIIBLK family. Teaming up with a passionate, professional crew who truly lives for music is exactly what we were looking for. A bold new era of ODC starts now – and it’s going to be massive!”

Aldo Lonobile, Head Of A&R Europe at Frontiers Label Group, parent company of  BLKIIBLK, stated: “ODC impressed me since the first listening, they are the perfect formula between modern alternative metal and a devoted work attitude, and we are ready to bring the band to the highest level!”

Twisted Love features the tracks: ‘My Only Fan (Feat. SUN)’, ‘Love, I Tore It Apart’, ‘Twisted Love’, ‘Follower (Feat. SUN)’, ‘The Beauty Of The Beast’, ‘My Name Is Gold’, ‘I Need To Breathe’, ‘If I’d Tried’, ‘Raise Your Hands Up’ and ‘Despechá (Rosalía Cover)‘ – It can be ordered here.
