Port Noir’s Return is Complicated

After a three-year hiatus, Swedish alternative rock outfit Port Noir made a powerful return with their single ‘Redshift’, a month later they offer their follow-up single ‘Complicated‘, both available now via InsideOutMusic.

‘Complicated’ sharpen the outlines of Port Noir‘s next era, one leans towards melody, delving into atmosphere, with a darker, weightier pulse.

The accompanying video amplifies ‘Complicated’ atmospheric intensity and you can check it out here at RAMzine, and listen to it here.

Formed in Södertälje, Sweden, the trio of Love Andersson (Lead vocals, bass guitar, guitar, keyboards, piano), Andreas Wiberg (Drums) and Andreas Hollstrand (Guitar, background vocals, keyboards, piano) has built a reputation for blending rock, alternative, and pop influences with a dark, cinematic edge.

Following the release of their 2022 album Cuts, Port Noir has returned to InsideOutMusic — the label that supported some of their most acclaimed releases — and it signals a renewed creative momentum and a homecoming of sorts.

First single ‘Redshift’ served as both a reintroduction and a statement of intent. The song pairs atmospheric tension with Port Noir’s signature rhythmic drive, combining modern production with emotional depth.

The band commented on that single, saying: We’re thrilled to finally share our new single ‘Redshift’. It’s heavier, darker and pulsing with raw intensity, capturing our renewed energy and creative drive. With ‘Redshift’, we wanted to create something that hits harder than anything we’ve done before but still carries the melodic tension and atmosphere that define Port Noir.

“It’s both a reflection and a rebirth. It’s a bridge between where we’ve been and where we’re going, a reset and a push forward. ‘Redshift’ sets the tone for what’s to come.”

You can listen to ‘Redshift’ here. Accompanying the release is a visually striking music video that complements the song’s atmospheric intensity you can check out below at Ramzine.
