The UK’s most enigmatic band President have kicked off 2026 with their first new music since last year’s debut EP King of Terrors, and it comes with a significant development: they’ve signed to Atlantic Records.
‘Angel Wings’ is a richly layered piece of work that blends alt rock, industrial textures, programmed beats and push and pull breakdowns. It is, frankly, another heavy hitting track. The accompanying video, peered through keyholes and drenched in gothic atmosphere, is as visually compelling as you’d expect.
“‘Angel Wings’ reflects a search for spiritual redemption and the resolve to begin again,” the band’s masked frontman explains. “It marks the opening of a new chapter. At its core, the song speaks to holding close those who matter most, while remaining unmoved by detractors.”
‘Angel Wings’ does reveal a voice. The anonymity is still intact on paper, but five tracks in, that vocal is becoming increasingly distinctive. Does anyone recognise it yet? The internet certainly has its theories. The track amassed over 100,000 YouTube views within twelve hours of release, a figure that will have risen dramatically by the time you read this.
Speaking to Revolver in a cover feature, the band summed up their philosophy: the music industry has “elements of fast fashion” and they wanted to step back from that conveyor belt entirely.
President‘s North American tour alongside Bad Omens and Beartooth kicks off this weekend, followed by a completely sold out UK headline run in April and a packed European festival summer including Slam Dunk, Download support for Babymetal, Graspop, Hellfest, Wacken Open Air and many more.
‘Angel Wings’ is out now.
