Pure Reason Revolution Announce 20th Anniversary UK Shows with Chloë Alper

Progressive alternative rock act Pure Reason Revolution has announced that they will play two very special UK shows in February 2026, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the bands much-loved debut album The Dark Third. For these shows, the band will be joined by original member Chloë Alper.

These shows replace the already announced September 2025 UK dates, and all original tickets remain valid from those shows.

Jon Courtney commented:  I‘m thrilled to be back on stage with Chloë. It’s staggering to think it’s been 20 years! I really can’t wait to play the album in full – These shows are going to be epic.”

Chloë Alper added: I’m really excited to honour such a special anniversary with these live shows. It will be really special to be back on stage together and I can’t wait to play some of the songs that, in many ways, helped establish the Pure Reason Revolution sound.”

A deluxe digital edition of the band’s latest album, Coming Up To Consciousness, was recently released, featuring instrumentals of the entire album, two stripped down versions, as well as a remix of the track ‘Betrayal’ by KC Blitz (Bring Me The Horizon), you can listen now here.

Coming Up To Consciousness is the third of its post-hiatus renaissance records that began with 2020’s Eupnea and continued in 2022’s Above Cirrus. Like those two predecessors, the new record is intensely personal. Its eight tracks are all between four and seven minutes long – concise by Pure Reason Revolution standards – and they grapple with darkness of various kinds.

The band was thrilled to work with multiple members of prog icon The Pineapple Thief; the record was mixed by Bruce Soord, mastered by Steve Kitch, and had Jon Sykes playing bass on one track. Coming Up To Consciousness is also the third PRR album to feature cover art by Jill Tegan Doherty, who Courtney originally met in Berlin on a German language course, and the first to feature new vocalist Annicke Shireen.

The album is available as a limited CD+DVD digipak (featuring 5.1 Surround Sound & high resolution Stereo Mixes), standard CD jewel case, as well as a gatefold revinyl LP (Recycled Vinyl), and digitally in both stereo and Dolby Atmos. Available here.
