Sick of Hearing everyone’s opinions on absolutely everything? Richie Harrison is on his new grunge-punk single, ‘The Rope’, that’s set for release on 12th September.
‘The Rope’ is a spit in the face to the commentary around the recent election. Or, as the singer put it, “I was reading all the manifestos and I couldn’t decide who to pick… On social you have everyone telling you who to pick, but they all lie. ‘The Rope’ is about not being able to choose a side.”
The a-political political track shares the artist’s frustrations in true alt-rock track. Feelings manifest in this grungy single led by Harrison’s brooding vocals and churning guitar. ‘The Rope’ just might lure in audiences with its boppy verses before exploding into frenzies of manic guitar.
It will come as no surprise to fans of Harrison that ‘The Rope’ is a way of working through the artist’s feelings. For 20 years, Harrison came in and out of bands but his anxiety prevented him from releasing music of his own. That was until his single ‘The Firing Line’ got released to incredible reviews. Suddenly, music had become a lifeline for Harrison as a way to work through his issues.
