New Single, Additional Live Dates & Another Album Underway for Robert Jon & The Wreck

Californian southern blues rockers Robert Jon & The Wreck have rescheduled three of their Spring 2025 UK tour dates. They will now play Birmingham O2 Academy 2 on Tuesday 6th May, Gloucester Guild Hall on Wednesday 7th May and Chester Live Rooms on Thursday 8th May. They’ve also added two new dates, Northampton Roadmender on Friday 9th May and Portsmouth Guildhall on on Saturday 10th May where Brave Rival has just been added as special guests.

The announcement follows the release of Robert Jon & The Wreck’s new single ‘Ashes In The Snow’ he first single taken from their forthcoming studio album produced by nine-times Grammy Award winner, Dave Cobb.

You can stream the single here and watch the video here at RAMzine.

Written in collaboration with the renowned H. Jack Williams, ‘Ashes In The Snow’ is a poignant ode to the fragility of relationships and the enduring power of love. “The simple message from ‘Ashes in the Snow’ is about keeping a relationship together and not letting it crumble or turn to ash, knowing that love is the most important thing,” explains frontman Robert Jon Burrison.

‘Ashes In The Snow’ marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for Robert Jon & The Wreck, teasing a slate of fresh material from their upcoming new album in 2025. Recorded in Savannah, GA at Cobb’s studio, the song marries heartfelt lyrics with a classic rock sensibility, drawing inspiration from the band’s favourite ‘70s rock influences. Featuring melodic slide guitars, three-part harmony vocals, and lush keyboard layers, the single delivers an emotional depth that complements its epic, groove-driven arrangement while offering a glimpse into the creative direction the band is exploring, setting the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable year.

Guitarist Henry James added, “We wrote this in the fall of 2023 during a jam session with H. Jack Williams, taking an idea he had, and building off of it. It was one of the first songs we put together for our sessions with producer Dave Cobb. When we started recording, Dave suggested adjustments to the arrangement, lending a feeling of spontaneity to the track. Dave even played rhythm guitar, which is prominently featured. The result is something fresh and exciting that we’re incredibly proud of.”

Robert Jon & The Wreck rarely put a foot wrong musically so you’ll find no major surprises on new single ‘Ashes In The Snow’, more a subtle refocus about the core profoundness present within their songs, perhaps lost somewhat due their prolific output whereby it takes the listener some time to catch up and appreciate what’s on offer beyond the surface appeal of their music.

Here, main man Robert Jon Burrison’s lyrics are sung with deliberate clarity and emotional weight, as a slide guitar melody weaves in and out with a tempered cry while the weight of the full band huddles close in protective comfort. There are echoes of bands from times gone by, but it’s a timeless tune, due in part to its theme, the road warriors who perform on it, and here on ‘Ashes In The Snow’, there’s also the sense that Dave Cobb is the right man for the right song here, thus it’s going to be interesting hearing what he’s produced on the rest of the album.

This all follows in what was a landmark year for the band in 2024. Their Kevin Shirley (Journey, Iron Maiden, Joe Bonamassa) produced Red Moon Rising album was critically acclaimed, showing a bold declaration of evolution and rebirth that captured the essence of the band’s transformative years and sets a new course for their musical odyssey. A Deluxe Edition of Red Moon Rising including four new songs was recently made available to stream here.

Red Moon Rising features a blend of powerful storytelling and diverse musical influences, with standout tracks such as ‘Ballad of A Broken Hearted Man’, that has hit over 1 million views on YouTube, ‘Give Love’, ‘Dragging Me Down’, and ‘Worried Mind’ showcasing the band’s ability to connect deeply with their audience. With its dynamic range and emotional depth, Red Moon Rising set a new standard for the Southern California rock genre.

Prolific songwriters with a wealth of new material who refuse to be constrained by traditional release strategies, the band’s new partnership with Joe Bonamassa’s Journeyman Records affords them the opportunity to work with the world’s top producers and release a steady stream of high-quality singles on an ongoing basis, cutting through the industry chaos and ensuring new music is accessible to their fans.

Hailing from Southern California, Robert Jon & The Wreck take the Southern rock sound from the East Coast and make it their own. Since their inception in 2011, these native Californians featuring Robert Jon Burrison (Lead vocals, guitar), Andrew Espantman (Drums, background vocals), Henry James Schneekluth (Lead guitar, background vocals), and Warren Murrel (Bass) have been electrifying audiences all over the world with their soaring guitar leads, rich vocal harmonies, and memorable tunes. Recently, keyboardist Jake Abernathie joined the band as an official member as they continue to tour and record in the studio. Simply put, it is difficult to ignore when these talented musicians take the stage.

As Robert Jon & The Wreck prepare to embark on this next chapter with their highly anticipated Spring 2025 UK Tour, fans old and new have been invited to join in the celebration of change, rebirth, and the relentless spirit of rock ‘n’ roll.
