The world can be cruel, but electronic metal group Solence offers a simple cure. The high-energy Swedes quartet is defined as much by their endless optimism as talent. Their fifth album, Angels Calling, is out now via Better Noise Music.
Out too, the band’s latest single and video ‘Monsters In My Head’.
“It’s the story of battling with your own thoughts and demons,” said singer Markus Videsäter of the album’s fifth single. “The feeling of lying in bed at night and yet again the thoughts are spinning, your old mistakes getting played over and over again. This song also includes a new sound for us—country-inspired acoustic guitar, different tempo, and a chorus that’s impossible to get out of your head. It was super fun writing and working on!”
You can listen to the single here, and watch the video below.
Based out of Los Angeles and originally hailing from Sweden, Solence’s lineup, aside from Videsäter, features guitarist David Strääf, keyboardist Johan Swärd, and drummer David ‘Viking’ Vikingsson. Musically, they combine big pop hooks and electro savvy with the heavy yet melodic intensity of trailblazing Swedish metal into a distinctive international sound equal parts hypnotic and uplifting.
Their intent to focus their energy on uplifting anyone in a dark state of mind to a brighter place. “Solence is all about having a good time,” Videsäter declared. “Our message to our existing fans and potential new ones is that we want to bring the fun back into rock ‘n roll.
“Storytelling is a lot of fun,” he continued. “I write about motivation and how to get myself up in the morning. So, yes, there’s still a lot of that. We bundle it up in a lot more energy and craziness. Angels Calling is so cool. I love every single song. I’m so excited about how massive it feels.
“We started writing Angels Calling while on tour with The Hu back in 2024, inspired by Eastern European folk music,” explained Videsäter. “When we had the vocals and the song started to come together, it instantly felt like a perfect title track. This song has everything—the lyrics, the energy, the chorus, the breakdown—everything we wanted the album to include. We really hope the fans enjoy it as much as we do!”
The anthmic title track was their fourth single, and it’s about living out loud and in the moment. You can listen to the track here and check out the video here at RAMzine.
‘Wish You The Worst’ was the third single from Angels Calling – The song is an unapologetic and empowering anthem to be played and sung out loud when “people in your life cut you deep,” said Videsäter. “Some people just want to destroy everything around them…this song is for them.”
“I felt there was one more spot on the album for a real ‘f**k you anthem” Videsäter added, “and in a session with our friend Jimmy we wrote ‘Wish You The Worst!'”

Previously, ‘Dead Alive‘ available here came out as a single and you can check out its lyric video here at RAMzine.
“‘Dead Alive’ is probably one of the heaviest songs on Angels Calling said Videsäter. “We really wanted to go full on with this one. The song itself is about a world on fire where instead of acting on it we all walk around like we’re ‘Dead Alive‘. Think this is one of the most powerful choruses we’ve written to date, really excited for people to hear this!”
That in turn follows ‘Where Were You..?‘ about which guitarist Strääf said: “‘Where Were You..?’ is a fast and fun song about a friend letting you down when you needed them the most. The song really keeps the tempo up with a big chorus, modern production and a very heavy, bouncy and genre bending breakdown!”
Returning with fresh visuals, a new look, and a retrofitted sound that combines the best of their past with a look into the future for both the group and the genre. “For some reason, I’ve always felt like my time on earth is limited, as if I might die young,” frontman Markus Videsäter explained. “Our music is about making the most of life, relationships, and passion before heaven calls us home.”
Lauded as one of Pandora’s Rising Rock Artists To Watch In 2023, Solence have to date garnered over 358 million cumulative streams over 940k monthly Spotify listeners, and over 96 million video views since their formation in 2012. The band have built a dedicated global audience on past tours opening for bands including Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills, Electric Callboy, We Came As Romans, and The HU. Angels Calling is the follow-up to their EP Blue Monday released back in January
In 2025, Solence continue to spread their life-affirming message. “‘Until I hear the Angels Calling reminds us that life is way too short to worry about doubt or making mistakes,” Videsäter said. “We never know when our time is up, so let’s make the most of it while we can!”
Tracks featured on Angels Calling are: ‘Angels Calling’, ‘Monsters In My Head’, ‘Where Were You..?’, ‘MESS’, ‘DeadAlive’, ‘Wish You The Worst’, ‘Dangerous To Love’, ‘All Of The Pain Must Go’, and ‘Angels Vs Demons – It can be ordered here.
