TAILGUNNER have just unleashed ‘Eulogy’, the final track from their upcoming album Midnight Blitz, and it’s pure festival fuel. Epic hair, epic guitar solos, epic vocals, epic drums. Full on 80s fantasy story mode. What more could you possibly need?
The closing song starts with delicate orchestral melodies before detonating into speed metal chaos, the track will have you throwing your fist in the air, whether you’re in your bedroom or front row at Download.
The Birmingham quintet aren’t shy about their influences. “Inspired in particular by our heroes in Helloween and Blind Guardian,” the band explains, describing ‘Eulogy’ as “an epic journey into the afterlife.”
Midnight Blitz drops February 6, 2026 via Napalm Records, and the story behind it is the stuff of heavy metal dreams. After impressing on tour supporting KK’s Priest, legendary Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing agreed to produce the entire record.
“TAILGUNNER is a band we should have seen emerge years ago from the UK,” says Downing. “They personify everything that is heavy metal. They are loud and proud.”
One roadie described them as “the bastard child of Maiden and Priest,” and the band ran with it. Over 100 shows touring their debut taught them how to deliver, and you can hear it across ten tracks of twin lead guitars, blitzkrieg drums, and choruses built for shouting along.
From the air raid siren opening of the title track to the 80s horror vibes of ‘Dead Until Dark’ (yes, it’s The Lost Boys inspired), this is classic heavy metal without the museum dust. Catch them supporting Hammerfall in January, Fozzy in February, or at festivals across Europe this summer.
