Hammer won’t fall.
You may have heard before Christmas that Team Rock and all of it’s outlets, including Metal Hammer and Classic Rock magazines, were to go in to administration.
Today it was revealed that all of Team Rock’s former outletshave been purchased by Future Publishing. This also included the Golden God awards and Team Rock radio. Future also currently own Total Guitar, Guitarist, Rhythm, and Musicradar.
Future paid £800,000 for the assets. Cheif executive of Future Publishing, Zilla Byng Thorne, had this to say:
“The acquisition of these classic rock brands with their associated magazines, events and websites marks a further step in our buy and build strategy…It further reinforces our creation of a leading global specialist media platform with data at its heart, which we are monetising through diversified revenue streams. We look forward to developing further these iconic and much-loved brands and to continuing to serve their communities of dedicated enthusiasts around the world.”
This follows alt metal icons Orange Goblin holding a fundraiser for the Team Rock staff who were left jobless at Christmas.
